7th and 8th graders will be preparing for Confirmation, which is a two-year Chosen program through Ascension Press. Only 8th graders, or anyone who has missed the Sacrament of Confirmation, will be Confirmed. 7th & 8th graders will meet every week from 4 - 5:30pm on Sundays starting October 4, 2026.  Didn't realize it was a two year program?  Contact Emily about getting caught up on Sacramental Preparation!

Confirmation Required Dates and Notes

  1. Required Parent Meeting for 7th and 8th Grade Parents: October 18 at 4pm.
  2. 85% Discipleship Attendance / Lesson Completion for Sacrament Completion in Good Standing!
  3. Complete a pre-approved Service Project of 20 hours to be the Hands and Feet of Christ.
  4. Mandatory Confirmation Retreat on February 5 – 7, 2027. More details to follow!
  5. AND One of the Following: (Dates, Details, and Other Options to be Discussed at the Parent Meeting)
  • March 13/ 14 Anchor/Shine Retreat
  • Catholic Heart Workcamp Mission Trip Retreat (Counts as Entirety of Service Project)
  • Steubenville Youth Conference
  • Other Opportunities TBA at Parent Meeting

 

About Our Curriculum

Chosen: Your Journey to Confirmation has been used by thousands of parishes to present the Catholic Faith to teens in a way that keeps their attention as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Filmed in over fifty locations in the United States and around the world, Chosen features fourteen of the top youth experts in the Church today. Chosen provides mapped out, comprehensive, and flexible lessons to allow our class to spend time engaging with the students and spending less time on the planning and logistics of the content. Chosen will help to equip your teens to have hearts of Christ’s disciples to impact your family, our Parish, and the Church! 

 

How Can I as a Parent Best Support My Child’s Preparation for Confirmation?

Parents, the best example of faith comes from you. More than ever, your child(ren) are watching how your practice your faith. If you are not already doing so, we invite you to make these things a priority:

  • Attending Mass on all Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.
  • Making your own faith a priority by seeking the opportunities for adult faith formation in the Parish.
  • Supporting a Parish ministry with the gift of your time and talents.
  • Having regular family prayer time which includes discussing the Sacraments with your family.

Discipleship for Children with Special Needs

We would like to help provide Discipleship opportunities for all of our Parish children in the way that best suits the child’s formational needs. We can offer to support children with special learning, behavioral, emotional or physical needs in a number of ways, depending on the level or type of need. If a child would benefit more from an alternative Discipleship program (perhaps small group or special friend) rather than our mainstreamed classroom format, we will do our best to work with parent(s) in providing the appropriate formation.
