     Purpose:  It is a one on one caring ministry by trained caring parishioners who respond to Christ's instruction to "love one another as I have loved you".
     Responsibilities:  It is a long term helping relationship focusing on the unique needs of a person who may be hospitalized, grieving, lonely, depressed, separated or in the process of divorce, homebound, terminally ill, struggling with their faith or are going through a personal crisis.
     Gifts to Share:  A caring and sharing person who is able to reach out a supporting hand to the spiritual, social and emotional needs of our community in total confidentiality.
     Commitment:  Desire to help others in crisis situations.  Willingness to commit to extensive training to become a Stephen Minister.  5 to 9 hours per month for a minimum of 2 years.
